Miravet Pitcher
Miravet Pitcher
An authentic water jug from Miravet, a historic pottery town in the Ribera d'Ebre region (Tarragona), famous for its folk pottery since the 16th century. This piece, made on a potter's wheel and fired in a wood-fired kiln, stands out for its generous silhouette with a globular body, robust handles, and short neck, true to the classic design of Catalan "càntirs" (water jugs).
Its finish combines light-colored fired clay with a glaze applied partially to the handles and neck, a traditional technique that protected the most exposed areas without compromising the clay's natural breathability. The irregular drips of glaze, unique to each piece, lend it an unparalleled visual and emotional value.
Originally used to hold and serve water, this pitcher retains its original patina and slight signs of the passage of time, making it today a decorative piece with soul, perfect for projects that embrace authenticity.
